About us

Welcome to our charming cottages nestled on our picturesque 7-acre property. Each cottage offers a delightful blend of comfort and convenience, ensuring a memorable stay for our guests.

Fernhill Cottages will be your “Home away from home” whether you’re on holiday, in between houses, completing renovations or newly migrated to New Zealand.

Our scenic driveway winds its way through native bush, guiding you over a rustic stone bridge that spans a tranquil pond. Immerse yourself in the beauty of nature as you catch glimpses of native birds and playful rabbits, creating a serene and enchanting atmosphere as you arrive home.

Choose from our selection of 2 and 3 bedroom, fully furnished cottages with all the amenities, including:

  • Fully equipped kitchen (stove, oven, fridge-freezer, dishwasher).

  • Internet.

  • Smart TV.

  • Laundry facilities (washing machine, tumble dryer, airer and outdoor clothes line).

  • Playground.

  • Pet friendly cottages available!

Bedroom Configuration

  • The master bedroom boasts a queen bed, providing a restful haven for our guests.

  • The second bedroom features cozy bunk beds, perfect for families.

Location

We are located on Auckland’s North Shore, just 20 minutes from Auckland City. Our cottages are surrounded by native bush and wildlife, making it difficult to believe how close you are to Auckland’s best restaurants, beaches, schools and entertainment. Wake up to birdsong and come home to parakeets & rabbits!

Albany Village is just a 5 minute drive and offers excellent restaurants, parks, supermarkets, a cinema and shopping mall.

Coatesville Village is 2 minutes down the road and home to superb cafés, scenic reserves

The kids loved exploring the nearby playgrounds, and we enjoyed staying outside the city but very close to all infrastructure. The owner was very responsive and helped with any issue. Highly recommended for a relaxing nature stay!

The cottages are cosy and welcoming and offer everything you should need for a very comfortable stay. The park like grounds are so peaceful and full of birdsong and a wonderful place to walk your dog or for your cat to roam and play.   • Fernhill Cottages were a perfect find for us. We sold our house, hadn't brought our next home and needed accommodation for almost 3 months - with a dog! It was great to find something so close to where we previously lived and where we worked, but to be able to have our dog with us was the biggest thing. The cottage we stayed in was perfectly comfortable, with Sky Tv, power and water provided. We had extra's like a BBQ, storage and carport also. Colin and Kirsty are excellent hosts and ensured that we had everything we needed. It's a magical spot and we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again or recommend it.
